(Posted 06/02/09)

Jim Hanson reports the following:
"More good
news. Larry had all the tubes removed last week and will be able
to leave the ICU in the near future. I'll keep you updated when
I get more information. This is good news because it means Larry
is able to breath on his own."

Hang in there, Larry. We're all pulling for you!

UPDATE
ON LARRY BAILEY
(Posted 05/27/09)
|
The following update is from Jim Hanson, received
on 04/26/09. Larry is doing better but still has a long way to
go. Remember him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
"I had a nice
long talk with Larry's wife Susan tonight. She updated me on Larry's
condition and progress. Just so you know, it all started with
an infection Larry developed after a surgery in April. Larry had
to be hospitalized to get the infection under control. He was
then put in rehab but his condition worsened. On one of her daily
visits Susan noticed that Larry was very pale, cold and clammy.
They checked Larry's blood pressure and it was 80 over 50 - not
good. Sue said if they hadn't gotten Larry back to the hospital,
he might have died. The good news is that Larry is doing better
after they removed a liter of fluid from around his heart and
another two liters from around his lungs. In fact, he tried to
pull all the tubes out because he wanted to get out and go home.
Sue says he's a real fighter. He does have a long road to travel
before he can come home. He's not out of the woods and can't completely
breath on his own. He may need a tracheotomy to help the breathing.
I told Sue to let Larry know we're all pulling for him. She says
he's completely alert and knows what's going on. He can't talk
because of the tubes.
I'll let you know when I get more information."

LARRY
BAILEY SERIOUSLY ILL
(Posted 05/20/09)
|
Word has come through
that Larry Bailey is seriously ill. Jim Hanson received an e-mail
from Ray Bauer on Monday, May 18th, informing him about Larry. Below
is an e-mail Jim received on Tuesday, May 29th, from Ollie Larson furhter
describing events:
"I talked
to Larry's Mom this afternoon. Larry's heart did stop and
they had a hard time shocking him back. He is on life support.
Today they took it off twice for 2 hours and he made it
through each time and tomorrow they will try it again. He
can not talk but can sqeeze a hand to answer a question, so you
can see he is not very well. Send out to our classmates
that we all need to keep Larry in our thoughts and prayers."
